Best Homemade Bread

In today's world, preservatives are the name of the game. They may preserve our food keeping it longer but at what risks to our health? We have been trying to get away from processed foods for this reason alone. One of our favorite things to have fresh is bread. I have taking the recipe I am going to share with you and tweaked it here and there to make different things from it. Dinner rolls, sandwich rolls, cinnamon swirl bread, sticky buns and cinnamon buns. The list can go on but I need to make them lol. So use your imagination because the possibilities are endless. Without further ado.

Equipment needed:

Stand mixer with a dough hook ( I use a kitchenaid)

Measuring cups and spoons

Bread pans

Large bowl (2 if you do not have a stand mixer)

Ingredients:

5 1/2 c flour

1 1/2 tsp salt

1/4 c oil

2/3 c sugar

1 1/2 tsp yeast (I use one packet of yeast)

2 c water (120 degrees)

Directions:

*This is when i turn my oven on it's lowest setting to warm my oven. Do not leave it on took long you want to get the inside warm to put your dough in to rise but not bake it. You can also turn your oven light on which will help warm it also.

Combine water, sugar and yeast; let sit 10 minutes or until foamy and bubbly.

Add oil and salt

Add 1 c flour at a time, or as needed to make non-sticky dough. Knead 5 minutes.

*Here is where if you do not have a stand mixer, mix your dough as best as you can until you can get a semi non-sticky dough. I put a large amount of flour on my counter, turn out my dough into the middle of it; rolling it around as best as possible to incorporate the flour; just keep kneading it in until you have got a good firm dough.

Grease your large bowl and bread pans; put in your dough; cover with a damp dowel and set in your warm oven for an hour.

*I use homemade cake release instead of oil to grease my pans. It works so much better and actually comes right out of the pan no problems.

Punch the middle; divide in 1/2; shape into loaves; put into pans; let rise another 30 minutes; take out of oven.

Heat oven to 350 degrees; Bake 30 minutes; Remove from pans. And enjoy!
